This weekend.
Dec. 5th, 2004 08:23 pmToday was a laze-about-and-clean-the-house day. :) But last night was our office christmas party, and it was great. I realize every year how little I know the people at the other office. They are the bigger office, and they have 3 new people, but still. Our company is 22 years old this year! Amazing. I think dad's been a partner for...8 years, maybe? Our new receptionist was weirdly missing, though...
I realized that I missed walking around with Dad when he's dressed as Santa. Yes, he was dressed as santa for the christmas party. He has owned a santa costume I think as long as I've been alive, there's pictures of me sitting on Santa daddy's lap as a child.
Yes, I know he's Jewish...
but it's really the only time he can say hello to little children without them cowering in fear. He's a big guy, probably looks scary to a little kid, but he's a teddy bear. Last night, as we walked into the restaurant where the party was, we got glances from every table, as well as comments from all the staff. Now, dad's only got heavy 5 o-clock shadow right now ("Santa's trying to grow out the beard by the 25th," says dad) but he even stopped at a table and gave a gawking giggling child a candy cane.
It made him so happy. Dad, too. Maybe I should join mom this year when dad makes his christmas party rounds....
